Summary:

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting Networking solutions within our clients’ networks located primarily in the New York Metro area.

This is a full-time position to work for Big Idea Technology at our New York City office. This position is for someone who not only wants to continue learning but does well being put in different situations and presented with new challenges on a regular basis. We are a Cloud Services Provider which will allow the proper candidate to have access to cutting-edge Microsoft Cloud technologies and projects (we will train on Cloud technologies). There are also incentive programs designed to encourage growth and advancement through learning new technologies or achieving new certifications.
 
A valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a car available to you 100% of the time are required for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy and support secure networking solutions involving L3 switching, firewalls, site-to-site connectivity, WiFi deployment.
• Implement and administer infrastructure for business solutions based on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019/2016.
• Provide tier 3 troubleshooting support for a complete range of systems and network issues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers that further develop our Company’s positive reputation through exceptional customer service.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on areas of expertise.

Qualifications (demonstrated ability in the following):

• Minimum four years of experience with Networking technologies (L3 switching, routing, firewall, WiFi)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Travel required to clients in the NY metro area, and infrequent travel to clients outside our area.
• Exposure to Microsoft based cloud technologies is a plus, not required - including: AzureAD, Intune, Sharepoint Online and ODfB, Teams, RDS and WVD

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or IT related field preferred
